The 2009 National Conference on Citizenship (NCoC), scheduled for September 9th, will focus on how civic return on investment is evaluated and explore the definition of social innovation. This year’s conference will bring together civic leaders, educators, CEOs, and representatives from each of the three branches of government to address issues related to our nation’s civic health. The NCoC—recently named in the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act to expand the reach and impact of our Civic Health Index—is a nonprofit, chartered by Congress, that measures, tracks, and advocates for civic participation in the areas of political involvement, history and civics education, and national and community service.
