America Forward Applauds Introduction of the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act

Members of the America Forward Coalition issued the following statement on the introduction of the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act in both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate on Thursday, November 2, 2017:

“Members of the America Forward Coalition applaud the introduction in both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate of H.R. 4174/ S. 2046, the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act. This new legislation, introduced by Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), enacts key recommendations from the recently released bipartisan report from the Commission on Evidence-Based Policymaking. The recommendations in the legislation, which the full U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform quickly moved to approve today, contains important policy ideas that expand opportunities for evidence-building in government to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of federal programs and to improve people’s lives through access to programs that work. The America Forward Coalition looks forward to working with policymakers in both the House and Senate to ensure quick passage of this important piece of evidence-based policymaking legislation.”
