America Forward, a non-partisan initiative, brings together policymakers and leaders from across sectors to unite public and private expertise and resources with the impact of social innovations. We have advanced this initiative through the leadership of a coalition of more than 90 results-driven, entrepreneurial nonprofit organizations, grant-making intermediaries, and their partners.
America Forward launched in 2007 to shape the national dialogue on solving social problems and advance a non-partisan policy agenda to promote social innovation and build cross-sector partnerships to identify and invest in what works. Throughout the 2008 presidential election, the America Forward Coalition met with every major presidential campaign from both parties including Clinton, McCain, Obama, and Romney, to introduce them to the high-impact approaches of social innovators.
Among its initial successes were the establishment of the White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation by President Obama and, through the bi-partisan passage of the Edward M. Kennedy Service America Act, the creation a social innovation fund, and the scaling of national service more than three-fold.
Today, America Forward is working to broaden and deepen the promotion of a non-partisan approach to transform the way we solve problems as a nation. We believe this agenda, if successful, will help bring about a world in which problem solvers across sectors approach their efforts by fostering social innovation and creating marketplaces for solutions at the federal, state, and community levels.

Statement of Nonpartisanship
America Forward is a nonpartisan coalition of social entrepreneurs and high-impact organizations who believe a public policy approach that incorporates the principles of innovation, performance, competition, accountability, and results will generate solutions to otherwise intractable social problems. America Forward and its coalition members do not endorse any candidates for public office. America Forward intends to report on important political campaign issues and activities related to its mission to help fuel a discussion about new, more effective ways to solve domestic problems, and to advance a policy agenda that will create an infrastructure for social entrepreneurs and government to act together to scale the impact of solutions that work.
