AF Coalition Members Step up During Crisis (Vol. 21)

Every week, America Forward is highlighting a few examples of the vital work being done by our Coalition members to support students, families, educators, workers, elected leaders, advocates, and communities across the country. Nonprofit Finance Fund

Like their communities, nonprofit organizations across the country continue to feel the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis. To help organizations navigate these challenges, the Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) has put together a comprehensive database of COVID-19 Tools and Resources for Nonprofits. They include links to key insights, news, tools and how-to videos, government funding and relief resources, webinars, and more.

Aurora Institute

As the COVID-19 crisis continues to reshape school systems across the country, Aurora Institute is offering critical Resources on Key Topics and Tough Issues, to inform approaches to education during COVID-19 and beyond. These resources include issue briefs and reports — like their most recent, Education Policy Issues for the COVID-19 Era: Policy Actions and Responses to Leverage the Moment for Future Readiness, which “offers insights and recommendations on 10 critical issues identified through our technical assistance in the field and work with education policy decision-makers around the country.”

BellXcel

BellXcel is prepared for a return to learning this fall with their All-in-One Solution for Fall 2020 Programs. Incorporating the “tools, resources, training, and support” necessary for distanced, in-person, or hybrid approaches to education, their program includes digital resources, printed materials, professional learning tools, and flexible student programs to support the students, families, educators, and administrators in their community.

Children’s Aid

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, Children’s Aid has shared the stories of various members of their community as they continue to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. From students and families, to nurses, staff members, and local leaders, their COVID-19 page highlights innovation in employment opportunities for young people, school transitions and adjustments, work to provide food and nourishment to families, stories from health care professionals, and more.

Family Independence Initiative (FII)

In March, the Family Independence Initiative (FII) launched the #GiveTogetherNow campaign, in partnership with Stand Together, as a “national effort to support those hit hardest economically” by the COVID-19 crisis. The campaign has since “raised more than $100 million for hardworking families and individuals.” FII’s recently released COVID-19 Impact Report, a survey of 7,000 recipients of this funding, details key metrics, including how these relief funds were used to support and empower families and communities most affected by the pandemic.
